Vodafone Ghana Foundation, the charity arm of Vodafone Ghana has launched the ‘Kindred fund’ to support its sustainable initiatives to drive social change, improve people’s lives and solve pressing social needs. The Kindred Fund is a contributory fund of the Kindred network; a network of corporate organizations and individuals with a track record of engaging in philanthropic and impactful projects.
As a company, we feel that we must assist in the process of making Ghana a key player in the economic transformation that is expected in the 21st century on this continent and our plan is to prepare our young people for this coming transformation. We consider it our responsibility to support digital education among Ghanaian school children and have set ourselves a goal to be able to help Ghana to become the future IT Hub in Africa. To achieve this goal, our plan is to develop 10,000 junior coders among primary school students. In line with this noble agenda, we are training a core group of children in coding at a very basic level, starting from grade 3.
Social responsibilities and ethical practices are vital to the success of corporate bodies. The purpose of social responsibilities is to give back to society and the projects of Vodafone Ghana Foundation exemplifies the concept of social responsibility and its ability to drive sustainable inclusive developments for all. Devdex Software, together with the Vodafone Ghana foundation and other corporate bodies pledge to this cause.
